Embraco brings a new range of unhoused condensing units to commercial applications in the European market
The new range achieves 5 kW of cooling capacity, with high energy efficiency, in compliance with new European regulations
November 2020 – Embraco, a global provider of technology for the complete domestic and commercial cold chain, and part of the Nidec Global Appliance portfolio of brands, has released to the European market in November a new range of unhoused condensing units.
The new highly-efficient portfolio is powered by Embraco’s NJX and Scroll compressors, offering higher cooling capacity by extending the existing range from 2.5 kW to 5 kW. The new units are also ready to comply with new European energy efficiency regulations (Ecodesign approved). “This is an affordable and competitive solution for remote systems, serving applications such as cold rooms, milk tanks, reach in cabinets and others”, explains Alessandro Pedrazzi, Business Senior Manager at Nidec Global Appliance, where he is responsible for the Embraco aftermarket portfolio for EMEA region.
Embraco´s condensing units can be fully equipped with a liquid line, filter drier, liquid receiver, pressure switch and valves, eliminating the need for the installer or manufacturer to customize it later. With a design focused on accessibility to components, another differentiation of the new portfolio is a sight glass, which allows to check how the system is working. The portfolio has 7 models, 4 in MBP (from -20°C to 5° C) and 3 in LBP (from -35°C to -10°C), running on alternative refrigerants such as R449A, R448A and R513A. “It is a product focused on offering contractors and installers a solution that is ready to install and servers a big range of applications in food service and food retail, with high performance, reliability, energy efficiency and easy access to components, bringing along the trust and tradition of the Embraco brand”, resumes Pedrazzi.
New dedicated structure
This launch comes after Nidec Global Appliance reorganized its market approach into three business units (BU), each dedicated to a specific market segment: Home Appliances, Commercial Appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) components. The Commercial Appliances BU is dedicated to the Embraco brand portfolio counting also on a specific structure focused on development and production of innovative cooling solutions, such as condensing and sealed units.
“The main goal of this strategy is to be closer to the market and customers with a dedicated structure, which will enhance Embraco’s portfolio in this kind of solutions and related services”, says Pedrazzi. Nidec Global Appliance counts on two manufacturing plants of condensing units, one in Slovakia and another in Brazil. In the last quarter of 2020, the Commercial Appliances division started a global movement towards offering standard portfolios of condensing units, specifically designed for each region of the world, making Embraco a stronger partner for customers looking for fully equipped systems of refrigeration in this segment.
