Nidec Global Appliance to acquire compressors’ production line in Austria
Nidec Global Appliance, a division of Nidec Corporation, announces the signature of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of the Delta production line from Secop Austria, as informed to investors on March 31st by Nidec Corporation. The deal includes the business related to the development, manufacturing and sales of Delta compressors, that will be executed in the site of Fürstenfeld, Austria.
With headquarters in Italy and Brazil, Nidec Global Appliance combines the synergies between brands and products for home and commercial appliances segments worldwide. The business division manufactures and commercializes Embraco’s cooling solutions and compressors for a variety of refrigeration equipment, as well as motors for dishwashers, washing machines and dryers. “This acquisition is part of our business strategy of strengthening our compressors business, while enhancing our production capacity in Europe”, states Valter Taranzano, CEO of Nidec Global Appliance.
Nidec Global Appliance division will take over approximately 40 employees for the production of household refrigeration compressors on the Delta line and retained 47 employees for the production of motors for washing machines and dishwashers. The closing of the transaction is conditional on approval by the European Commission, which Nidec Global Appliance expects shortly.
